Advantech has announced mass production of the SKY-MXM series, powered by the next generation of NVIDIA RTX PRO Blackwell embedded GPUs. These compact modules are designed for high-resolution, real-time, AI-intensive applications within small form factor systems. This initial release focuses on mid-range models, while high-performance variants are planned for later this year, offering designers flexible options to scale performance while maintaining a compact form factor, low power consumption, and extended lifecycles.
Solutions tailored to each embedded need
The SKY-MXM series is based on the latest NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, delivering smoother AI inference and enhanced graphics processing. Supporting PCIe Gen5 and the new GDDR7 memory, the increased bandwidth allows for handling larger datasets or multiple high-resolution streams with ease, ensuring ultra-smooth performance in data-intensive tasks and AI workloads.
With NVIDIA's fifth-generation Tensor Cores, supporting new FP4 precision, DLSS 4, and improved FP32 performance, the platform ushers in a new era of AI-accelerated graphics and enables faster prototyping and deployment of larger models. DP 2.1a support enables incredibly smooth 4K 240Hz display for broadcast or extended reality applications.
- SKY-MXM-2000BMid-range MXM module powered by the embedded NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell GPU. It offers high FP32 performance and supports FP4, PCIe Gen5, and enhanced memory. Ideal for intensive AI tasks, 3D rendering, and VLM applications in embedded systems that have outgrown previous generations.
- SKY-MXM-500BEntry-level MXM module based on the Blackwell NVIDIA RTX PRO 500 embedded GPU. It offers video output, AI acceleration, and low power consumption. Perfect for compact, mobile, or cost-sensitive embedded platforms, facilitating the adoption of the Blackwell architecture without over-provisioning performance or requiring system redesigns.
Both models share the key advantages of the MXM format: compact design (Type A, 82 x 70 mm), low power consumption, flexible integration via carriers in servers, quality manufacturing in Taiwan, and long-term supply – a combination available from only a small number of MXM manufacturers worldwide.
Designed for the real-world challenges of embedded AI
Embedded systems face increasing demands: medical devices require real-time AI analytics in compact formats, security platforms need to process high-resolution video instantly in mobile or unmanned systems, and broadcasting systems need smooth, latency-free 4K output, all while keeping power consumption and system size under control.
The SKY-MXM series, based on the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, includes two models adapted to different performance and power consumption needs:
- Medical applicationsThey enable high-resolution imaging and real-time AI analysis in compact devices.
- Security and vigilanceThey promote mobile and unmanned platforms that require immediate visual decision-making without increasing consumption.
- Broadcasting and viewingThey offer smooth, high-resolution output for large screens and immersive experiences.
Leveraging the MXM format, Advantech provides a balanced solution between size, power consumption, and performance, making the Blackwell series a natural choice for modern embedded AI and graphics applications.
