Rutronik System Solutions enhances its offer with Molex's Micro-Fit 3.0 connector system, which stands out for its wide range of pole numbers and cable lengths for power and signal transmission. With a 3,0mm pitch and a maximum current carrying capacity of 8,5A, it ensures reliable power in a compact design.
Optional features such as Contact Position Assurance (TPA), blind mating capability, press-fit technology, and more, provide OEMs with the flexibility they desire for space-constrained applications. These include automotive, consumer, medical, and telecommunications/networks.
Fully insulated terminals protect the terminals from damage during handling and mating and minimize the risk of short circuits due to debris.
To meet the diverse requirements of OEMs, for example, Molex's Micro-Fit family offers the right connectors:
• Especially in applications that are difficult to access, such as slide-in units or fan trays, the connections must be able to be closed and opened without eye contact or with limited eye contact. This task is slow and can cause damage. With Micro-Fit BMI (Blind Mate Interface), Molex provides blind-mate wire-to-wire and wire-to-board connectors with up to 2,54mm misalignment tolerance and self-aligning capability.
• Contact Position Assurance (TPA) feature reduces contact slippage through redundant locking. It can only be closed when the contact is correctly positioned. Molex Micro-Fit TPA connectors prevent interference with end products. They are available in single row with integrated secondary lock and in double row.
• The CPI specification of Micro-Fit 3.0 connectors includes a spring-loaded snap-on interface, while retaining all the features of the standard Micro-Fit 3.0 connector. Together with the Micro-Fit 3.0 receptacle, PCBs can be easily converted from soldering to press fit applications. This allows to reduce design costs. The pin shape ensures a reliable connection.
• If applications will be equipped with connectors that require lower insertion and removal forces or tolerate frequent mating cycles for longer periods of time, Micro-Fit 3.0 RMF contacts are ideal. The pre-lubricated version can be mated up to 250 times and fits into standard Micro-Fit 3.0 housings. RMF contacts are available in sizes from 20 to 30 AWG.
