COSEL today announced the introduction of 800W Air Convection Cooled Power Supplies, AEA800F Series. With the most demanding applications in mind, the AEA800F is capable of offering 300% of maximum power for a period of up to 3.000 milliseconds. Designed for applications that require a high level of safety, the AEA800F is certified to EN62477-1 (OVC III) for industrial applications and is certified to ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1, and EN60601-1 3rd Edition for medical applications. The AEA800F series is suitable for body floating (BF) applications and meets 2MOPP (IN/OUT) and 1MOPP (OUT/FG) safety requirements. Its design is optimized for air convection, making it ideal for use in equipment operating in low-noise environments.

With ever-increasing levels of automation in industrial and medical applications, power supplies must be capable of delivering extra power during peak operating times required by dynamic loads, eg motor starting. To meet and maintain these conditions, the power supply must be designed with a high level of dynamic control and a power stage capable of sustaining repetitive peak loads. The AEA800F is capable of supplying 300% of its nominal power, cooled by air convection, for a period of up to 3.000 milliseconds, which is exceptional and meets the latest market requirements for industrial and medical equipment.

Industrial applications now require efficient power supplies capable of working in various environments with a high level of safety. The AEA800F is certified to EN62477-1 Overvoltage Category Three (OVC III), which means that end equipment powered by the products can be connected directly to the main distribution panel without adding an additional level of insulation. This simplifies the system designer's task, reduces costs and ensures the highest level of efficiency.

For medical applications, the AEA800F's input to output isolation complies with 2MOPP, input to ground with 1MOPP, and output to ground with 1MOPP, making the product suitable for body floating (BF) applications. Units are approved in accordance with ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 and EN60601-1 3rd Edition.

The AEA800F has 4.000 VAC input to output, 2.000 VAC input to ground (FG) and 1.500 VAC output to ground (FG) isolation.

Designed for international applications, the versatile AEA800F has an input voltage of 85 to 264VAC. It has three output voltages: 24V, 36V and 48V, with respective current values of 34A (72.5A peak), 22.7A (48.4A peak) and 17A (36.3A peak). The output voltage can be adjusted by a built-in potentiometer.

To achieve low harmonic current distortion, the AEA800F uses an active Power Factor Corrector (PFC), and the switching stage uses an LLC resonant topology using the latest generation of power semiconductors, giving it high efficiency. typical up to 95%.

For additional power, the AEA800F can be connected in parallel, up to six units. When in parallel, by adjusting the output voltage on the "master" unit, the "slaves" automatically adjust their output voltage to have the same value.

Optimized for convection cooling, the AEA800F can operate in an ambient temperature range of -20 to +70 degrees Celsius. Depending on the mounting method and the ventilation used in the final equipment, a derating may be applied as specified in the technical documentation.

The AEA800F includes inrush, over-current, and over-voltage protection circuitry, as well as thermal protection.

In its open frame format, the AEA800F measures 50 x 127 x 203.2 mm (1.97 x 5 x 8 inches) and weighs a maximum of 1,4 kg including lid.

The AEA800F meets the safety requirements: UL (United States), C-UL (Canada), DEMKO (Denmark) and TUV (Germany). The product is certified to UL62368-1, EN62368-1 and EN62477-1 (OVC III).

To suit specific application requirements, a number of options are available including: Shroud (C), Additional cover (N), Vertically positioned screws on terminal strip (T), Terminal strip replaced by a connector ( J), Extended Features: Auxiliary Outputs (AUX1 12V1A), (AUX2 5V1A), Remote On/Off and Alarm (R3), UL508 Certification (T5), Overcurrent protection mode changed from hiccup mode to off (P5).

The AEA series is suitable for a wide range of applications such as: robots and robotics, infusion pumps, fans, actuators, process control, radio and transmission equipment, and emergency signalling.

The AEA800F series has a full five-year warranty and is compliant with the European RoHS, REACH and low voltage directives.

The AEA series includes three models ranging from 600 to 1000 W, the AEA600F, AEA800F and AEA1000F, all of which offer maximum power for demanding applications.
