40 and 60 W DC-DC converters with 2×1” format and 4:1 input range

TDK Corporation (TSE 6762) announces the introduction of the series TDK-Lambda PXD40 and PXD60 of DC-DC converters 40 and 60 W, respectively. Available in a 2 x 1" package, these units can perform with a range 4:1, accepting an input from 9 to 36 Vdc or from 18 to 75 Vdc.

Operation with 12 and 24 V or 24 and 48 V supply voltages helps reduce inventory costs and increase component availability, while the shielded on all six sides decreases radiated emissions and simplifies system convenience.

The applications for these DC-DC converters span industrial control systems, telecommunication/datacom solutions, and test and measurement equipment.

The new PXD models are available with voltages of single outlet of 3,3, 5, 12, 15, 24 and 48 or two outlets of ±12, ±15 and ±24 V. The versions with one output can be adjusted (using the function trim) up to ±10 percent (-10/+20 percent for the 15 and 24 V outputs).

All these converters have a function of remote on/off (positive or negative logic) and are found protected under conditions of output overvoltage, overload and overheating. There is no minimum charge required.

With dimensions of 2 x 1 x 0.4” (50,8 x 25,4 x 10,2mm), the PXD40 and PXD60 units operate in the temperature range -40 to +105 °C (limitation depends on available airflow and heat dissipation). They can also be supplied with a heat sink (optional).

The new PXD converters have the IEC/UL/EN62368-1 safety certifications with the CE and UKCA markings, according to the Low Voltage (LV) and RoHS directives. They have input to output and input to housing isolation of 1600 Vdc.
