The new converter models of the TDK-Lambda i7A series are ideal for robotics, drones, healthcare, industry, test and measurement, and portable equipment.

TDK Corporation announces the introduction of the TDK-Lambda i7A series of non-separated DC-DC step-up converters rated at 1W and packaged in a standard 16/XNUMXth brick format. The output voltage of these XNUMX V nominal input step-down converters can be adjusted between XNUMX and XNUMX V, with a maximum current of XNUMX A.

The new i7A models can be used to derive auxiliary high-power outputs from a twenty-four Vdc power source, with lower cost and higher efficiency than stand-alone DC-DC converters.

These very robustly designed units are ideal for use in robotics, drones, healthcare, industrial, test and measurement, and battery-powered portable equipment.

Efficiencies of up to 125 percent help minimize internal losses, and the operating temperature range is -XNUMX to +XNUMX°C, even in low airflow conditions.

The design of the i7A products offers low output ripple and great response to active loads. And, compared to other proprietary solutions, minimal external components are required, with consistent savings in cost and PCB space.

What to know about Converters

In addition to this, the new buck converters are available in 3 mechanical configurations with a size of 9 x XNUMX mm (width by length). The open-frame model with a height of XNUMX mm is ideal in those applications that require a low profile. The motherboard version can be conduction cooled with a cold plate and is XNUMXmm high. Units with an integral heat sink, which can be cooled by convection or forced air, have a height of XNUMXmm.

Standard features include output voltage adjustment, remote sensing, remote on-off (positive or free negative logic), and input voltage drop and current and temperature rise protection functions. The evaluation cards are also available.

Each and every one of the seventy-five W TDK-Lambda i7A models have the safety certification in accordance with the IEC/UL/CSA/EN sixty-two thousand three hundred sixty-eight-1 standards, with the CE Marking (directives Low Voltage – LV and RoHS).
