Arrow Electronics and R3 Deliver Low Latency Wireless M2M Communications with Extraordinary Reliability

Arrow Electronics will offer the full range of ECHORING wireless networking products from R3 Communications in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). With ECHORING, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications with low latency and extraordinary reliability are achieved, with performance similar to current wired systems. Arrow will be exhibiting at the R3 Smart Production Solutions (SPS) booth from November 26-28, 2019 in Nuremberg, Germany. Many companies looking to deploy Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) or Industry 4.0 solutions require wireless networks with the same performance and reliability as existing wired control networks. R3 ECHORING delivers real-time levels of performance with latency as low as 1ms, even in complex industrial environments.
A range of software solutions combined with hardware modules, devices and reference designs, based on the Texas Instruments WiLink 8 chip with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, are now available to simplify integration with existing networks. Among the supported industrial communication protocols, we find PROFINET, PROFIsafe, Ethernet and SafetyNet. For the tasks of integration, operation and maintenance, there are other additional tools. For industrial automation applications, critical synchronization of disparate devices is required that has historically only been achievable over wired networks.
However, Industry 4.0 might be too much for cabling: machines need to be accessible even while moving, scalability requires a more flexible approach than could be achieved by hard-wired links, and moving parts are more prone to maintenance problems. maintenance. ECHORING uses radio technology, which offers deterministic access, combined with massive cooperation for reliability levels up to SIL 3. It can be integrated with existing industrial software and hardware thus helping to maintain previous investment in equipment. Security is achieved by Olypus Sky, a company that provides low-cost, low-complexity military-grade security. As part of the agreement, Arrow will offer a starter kit whereby users can test ECHORING's performance in their own production environment, substituting their own Ethernet connections for the kit's wireless stations.
