Stepped DIN rail concept for flat panel distribution boards with limited space.
Following the November launch of RECOM's 90W stepped module in 36mm (REFIN2U-S90/24/CL), RECOM is now expanding its REFIN family with the new REFIN2U-S30. This latest addition offers the same 2U-wide stepped DIN rail concept at a reduced cost for low-power applications and solves the problem of flat panel distribution boards with limited space, especially in building and home automation systems.
The REFIN2U-S30 is available with nominal outputs of 12 V DC and 24 V DC and provides a continuous power of 30 W. The units operate with a wide input range of 85 to 305 V AC and offer output adjustment ranges of 10,8 to 13,2 V DC and 21,6 to 26,4 V DC, respectively. Typical efficiency reaches up to 90%, while no-load power consumption is less than 100 mW.
With a width of just 36 mm and overall dimensions of 36 x 94 x 55 mm, the new series is designed for installations where distribution space is limited. The components use spring-loaded push-in terminals for solid or stranded cables, enabling tool-free and bushing-free connections. Rear mounting tabs also allow for direct rear-panel mounting in any orientation, even without a DIN rail.
The REFIN2U-S30 is specified for a 30 W output from -40 °C to +55 °C worldwide and can operate up to +90 °C ambient with power reduction. Protection features include short-circuit, overcurrent, and overvoltage protection with automatic recovery mode and auto-recovery. Reinforced insulation provides 4 kVAC input-to-output isolation, while the converters are rated for OVC III operation up to 3000 m altitude and OVC II up to 5000 m.
For system integration, the new parts meet the EMC requirements of EN IEC 61204-3 Class B and EN55032 Class B, and are certified according to UL62368-1, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 62368-1-19, IEC62368-1 and EN IEC 62368-1. The products are also classified as limited power supplies (LPS).
