Rack power supply applications

With the advancement of technology, cloud services are becoming more extensive and, as a result, a high demand for servers. As we can see in the Figure 1, servers can be divided into different categories based on their appearance: Tower type servers, blade type and rack type servers. On the other hand, power supplies are essential electronic components within the system in the server. OLFER and MEAN WELL Electronics Rack type power supplies are a ideal solution for feeding Rack type servers. The chassis size is the same, and the installation and expansion are very easy to use.

In general, the server power supply environment is not hostile, but the Rack type supplies developed by MEAN WELL and distributed by OLFER Electronics are designed with a high industrial grade and are therefore ideal for environments with a wide range of ambient temperatures. They can work on parallel, which makes them suitable for centralized systems high voltage. In addition, certain models are integrated with communication functions and are suitable for intelligent systems.

We share three cases Of applications:

First case

At Lóleo Eventos, Figure 2 shows a access control system. We choose the RCB-1600-12 programmable charger and the RHP-1U Rack to create an uninterruptible power supply system with batteries. When there is power (AC), the RCB-1600-12 charges the battery and supplies power to the access control system, but when the power is off, the battery will take over to supply power to the system.

Second case

At Lóleo Eventos, Figure 3 a centralized monitoring system is shown. We use the RCP-1000-12 Rack power supply and the RCP-1U Rack to supply power to the entire monitoring system.

third case

At Lóleo Eventos, Figure 4 a centralized power system is shown. We chose the CMU2C-RC## as the monitoring and control system together with the DRP-3200-48CAN programmable power supply to provide a 128KW DC power and power management solution to the RF amplifier.
