DFRobot Gravity Series Gas Sensors

gas sensor

Energy efficient and easy to implement.

Items are delivered as calibrated sensors in a set with a base module and a connection cable. Thanks to the availability of various libraries, the modules can be easily used in platform-based projects. Arduino, ESP32, and even Raspberry Pi (work on 5V and 3,3V DC) . Communication takes place via one of three interfaces: analog, I2C or serial UART. An additional advantage of these products is low operating current (approx. 5 mA) , which allows them to be used in battery powered applicationseg remote BLE sensors (using Bluetooth Low Energy communication technology).

Sensors can be used in construction of air quality monitoring devices in industry, mines, warehouses and other spaces with limited air circulation. They will also be useful in prototyping, in hobby projects and in education: they are an excellent base for experiments in the field of chemistry, biochemistry or plant breeding.

TME's offer includes sensors designed to detect the following gases:

DF-SEN0465: Oxygen Sensor – O2

These types of sensors are necessary in the construction of air quality monitors, as well as in applications in the field of exhaust gas testing (automotive). They are also used to monitor the growing conditions of plants.

DF-SEN0466: Carbon monoxide sensor – CO

Carbon monoxide is known as carbon monoxide. It has highly toxic properties, is odorless, and is produced by the combustion of coal and crude oil. For this reason, its concentration in the air must be controlled in rooms equipped with fireplaces, stoves, etc., as well as in car garages.

DF-SEN0467: Hydrogen Sulfide Sensor – H2S

Hydrogen sulfide is another highly poisonous chemical. It is released during the breakdown of proteins, in digestive processes, as well as in septic tanks, places where organic waste is deposited, etc. Therefore, the sensor H2S can be used to ensure proper ventilation in sewage pits, utility rooms, as well as compost bins and manure storage sites.

DF-SEN0468: Chlorine sensor – Cl2

Chlorine is mainly in a volatile state and belongs to the compounds harmful to health. It is used for disinfection, as well as in paints and bleaches. Cl concentration2in the air must be controlled, e.g. in cleaning product stores, as well as in indoor swimming pool pavilions.

DF-SEN0469: Ammonia sensor – NH3

The presence of ammonia in the air is monitored in many cases, since this compound is widely used in industry: mainly in the production of fertilizers, as well as in refrigeration.

DF-SEN0470: Sulfur dioxide sensor – SO2

Sulfur dioxide is used as a food preservative, in wines, jams, and other preserves. It is also the result of burning fossil fuels. Its concentration must be monitored, among others in rooms where coal is burned.

DF-SEN0471: Nitrogen dioxide sensor – NO2

Detection of nitrogen dioxide is most often carried out in two cases: in the automotive industry, during the analysis of exhaust gases produced by internal combustion engines; and in silos, where the grain is stored (rotting grains can generate concentrations of NO2, which are harmful to humans.

DF-SEN0472: Ozone sensor – O3

Ozone is widely used in many processes, especially as a germicide. Its disinfectant properties are used in the elimination of air conditioning molds, sterilization of rooms, drinking water and water installations; ionizers produce it to purify the air. In all these cases, the ozone concentration must be monitored so that it does not exceed a safe level.

DF-SEN0473: Hydrogen sensor – H2

Hydrogen, although ubiquitous, is a flammable gas, therefore, whenever there is a risk of its overproduction, care should be taken to measure the concentration of H2These will be all spaces where metals react with acids, as well as electrolysis (including galvanizing of metals), as well as energy storage rooms if they use acid or nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries.

DF-SEN0474: Hydrogen Chloride Sensor – HCl

One of the most popular chemical substrates is found in nature mainly in volcanic gases. It is used in the production of hydrochloric acid. Its detection will be necessary mainly during chemical syntheses and under industrial conditions.

DF-SEN0475: Hydrogen fluoride sensor – HF

Every day, the risk of contact with hydrogen fluoride is negligible, but it is a substance hazardous to health and is used in many industrial processes (aluminum processing, glass etching, quartz cleaning), including in the petrochemical industry.

DF-SEN0476: Phosphine sensor – PH3

The risk of its presence appears in the composition of agrochemicals, it is widely used as a pesticide, even for the carbonation of vegetables and fruits. It is also used for exterminating rats, as well as to combat barking beetles and fungi that can threaten wooden structural elements in construction.
